Why We Bring People Into Nature: Wonder, Legacy & a Deeper Yes | WanderBound (2021)

Originally filmed in 2021 to gain support for a youth outdoor program, this WanderBound video captures Ari Gunzburg’s heartfelt passion for helping people experience the beauty, majesty, and healing power of the outdoors.

In this episode, Ari reflects on why he brings people into nature, especially teens and young adults, and why outdoor experiences have a lasting impact. Though the original program didn’t move forward, the mission is still alive through WanderBound: to inspire deeper human connection by reconnecting to the natural world.

Ari shares a meaningful concept:
At the end of your life, you may be asked by the God or Higher Power of your understanding, “Did you see My world?”
Through these moments in the wilderness, these hikes, reflections, and quiet moments in God’s creation, you can answer, “Yes. I saw it. And it was amazing.”

The video includes several takes from that day, slightly repetitive but raw and real, showing Ari’s commitment to getting this message out:

  • Nature changes people.
  • It grounds us.
  • It reminds us that there’s more.

Even if you’ve never led a group hike or been deep in the backcountry, you can still be part of helping others connect to nature, whether by watching, sharing, or bringing someone along.

Themes in this episode:

  • The spiritual and emotional value of nature
  • Creating access to the outdoors for kids and communities
  • Seeing the world with presence and awe
  • Why outdoor connection is part of legacy
  • The call to say yes to something bigger than ourselves
